Another tip for DSLR users. When you’re using your tripod, make sure to turn off your Vibration Reduction (VR), or Image Stabilization (IS) if you’re in the Canon camp. When you have VR on, your camera system automatically moves around a little bit to compensate for camera movement caused by unsteady hands. So, when your camera is already stable on a tripod, you don’t want to have your VR on because your camera system thinks it needs to move a little bit!
If none of that made sense to you, don’t worry—just switch off your VR when using a tripod, and switch it on when hand-holding. Simple
